According to data from INE, February witnessed a continued growth in income from the tourist accommodation sector.
During February 2024, the sector welcomed 1.8 million guests, marking a significant 7.0% increase, and recorded 4.3 million overnight stays, reflecting a notable 6.4% rise.
This upsurge translated into substantial financial gains, with total revenue reaching 276.4 million euros, a robust 13.0% climb, and income from accommodation hitting 202.1 million euros, showing a commendable 13.1% increase. Key performance metrics such as the average income per available room (RevPAR) reached 37.8 euros, showing a respectable 4.5% rise, while the average income per occupied room (ADR) climbed to 83.8 euros, indicating a solid 6.0% increase.
Particularly noteworthy were the ADR peaks in Greater Lisbon at 107.8 euros and in RA Madeira at 85.6 euros. In terms of overnight stays, the municipality of Lisbon remained a standout, accounting for 24.3% of the total, comprising 12.1% from residents and 30.3% from non-residents.
Notably, among the municipalities with the highest representation in total overnight stays for February, Lisbon and Porto emerged prominently, showcasing growth rates of 8.3% and 10.5%, respectively.
