Nobu Hotel and Restaurant Lisbon will be located on Avenida da Liberdade, announced the American hotel chain that is owned by the famous actor, together with producer Meir Teper and chef Nobu Matsuhisa.
“The first Nobu Hotel and Restaurant in Portugal will be located in the heart of Lisbon, on the famous Avenida da Liberdade,” reveals the American group Nobu Hotels, which has 17 luxury hotels worldwide and plans to open a dozen and a half more in the near future, including the one now announced for the Portuguese capital.
“This prestigious address, known for its luxury boutiques and distinctive 19th century architecture, offers discerning travelers direct access to the city’s sophisticated retail, five-star restaurants and important cultural landmarks,” the Nobu Hotels group highlights on its website.
“The Baixa area, the trendy Chiado neighborhood and the famous São Jorge Castle are only a short walk away, making this location the perfect base for exploring all that the city has to offer,” the hotel chain notes, without detailing the location of its future hotel on Lisbon’s Avenida da Liberdade, nor the value of the investment or the number of rooms.
“We are excited to open our first hotel and restaurant in Portugal, and it is fitting that Lisbon is our first venture into the destination. With its rich history, vibrant dining scene and impressive neoclassical architecture, Lisbon is the ideal destination for our brand. We look forward to bringing the Nobu brand to Lisbon as part of our growth strategy in Portugal,” says Trevor Horwell, CEO of the group.
Founded and run by 78-year-old actor Robert de Niro, along with film producer Meir Teper and renowned chef Nobu Matsuhisa, the Nobu Hotel concept “is a curated experience where every property is different.”
