Dior is preparing to open its first shop in Portugal. The Parisian luxury brand will set up shop later this year in the Alegria One building on Lisbon’s emblematic Avenida da Liberdade.
Occupying three floors of the building, the shop will have a total of 1050 square metres, EastBanc, the real estate developer and manager responsible for the Alegria One project, said in a statement.

Built at the end of the 19th century, the building was home to the Keil family until the mid-20th century, and in 1954 it was sold to the Companhia de Seguros Ultramarina. In 2007, it passed into the hands of EastBanc, which is now promoting its rehabilitation with a project signed by the architect Eduardo Souto de Moura. With seven floors and a total of 2800 square meters, the building combines offices and shops and is “fully adapted to the new market trends”, guarantees EastBanc.

Tiago Eiró, CEO of EastBanc Portugal, comments in a press release that “this opening is another contribution to the revitalization and dynamism of Lisbon” which the company has been committed to for the past 20 years. “We are very pleased with Alegria One and, in particular, that its unique commercial space has been chosen for the opening of the first Dior shop in our country.”

Founded in the 1940s by creator Christian Dior, the Parisian brand is currently controlled by the French luxury conglomerate LVMH, whose portfolio also includes brands such as Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Givenchy or Celine. As of December 2022, Dior’s CEO is Antoine Arnault, eldest son of Bernard Arnault, leader of LVMH.
